Cookies and your choice
When you first open this site you are asked what you allow, and you can change that decision at any time through the cookie settings link in the footer.
Before you decide, no cookies are set and nothing is stored on your device beyond what is strictly necessary. Google's tag is loaded in a restricted mode in which it may send a single anonymous signal that carries no identifier and cannot be linked to you or to a later visit. Only after you consent is anything stored or linked.
Necessary. Required to run and secure the site. This covers delivery and bot protection through Cloudflare, the bot check on the enquiry form, your answer to the cookie banner, and an unsent draft of the enquiry form held in your own browser. No consent is required for these and they are not used to track you.
Statistics. Only with your consent: aggregated measurement of how the site is used, through Google Analytics, so that we can improve it.
Marketing. Only with your consent: measurement of which advertisement led to an enquiry, through Google Ads, the building of remarketing audiences so that we can show you our advertising again on Google services and partner sites, and a first-party cookie that remembers the originating advertisement for up to 90 days. Without this consent no such cookie is stored. If you arrive from an advertisement and send an enquiry during that same visit, the reference to that advertisement is passed on with your enquiry so that we can tell which campaign it came from.
Google services
We use Google Tag Manager to load these services. The Tag Manager itself sets no cookies and stores no personal data; it only decides which of the services below may run, based on the choice you made above.
With your consent we use Google Ads and Google Analytics, provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. These services process usage data and online identifiers to measure the success of advertising, to build remarketing audiences, and to analyse the use of this website. Where an enquiry is matched to an advertisement, your email address and, where given, your phone number are transmitted to Google in an irreversibly encrypted form (a hash), never in plain text.
Data may be transferred to servers of Google LLC in the United States. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission has recognised as providing an adequate level of protection. The legal basis is your consent under Article 6(1)(a) of the General Data Protection Regulation and, for the storage on your device, the corresponding national implementation of the ePrivacy Directive. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future.

Data you send us
We only receive personal data when you actively send it to us, for example through the enquiry form or by email, phone or WhatsApp. This typically includes your name, email address, phone number, preferred dates and any details you choose to add about your enquiry.
We use this data solely to answer your enquiry and, where you proceed, to prepare and administer a charter. We do not sell or rent your data, and we do not use it for automated profiling or decision-making.
Legal basis
Processing is based on Article 6(1)(b) of the General Data Protection Regulation, for steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract, and on Article 6(1)(f), our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries addressed to us.
Hosting
This website is hosted and delivered through Cloudflare, Inc., which processes standard technical server logs, such as IP address and request timestamps, as necessary to operate and secure the network. Cloudflare acts as our processor for this purpose. No enquiry data is processed by Cloudflare beyond the delivery of the page itself.
Retention
We keep enquiry data only for as long as needed to respond to and, where relevant, conclude and administer your charter, after which it is deleted or anonymised, subject to any statutory retention duties.
Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation you have the right to request access to, rectification of, or erasure of your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address above.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority:
Persónuvernd, the Icelandic Data Protection Authority

Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if the technical operation of this website changes. The current version always applies.
